Practical infomation
What?
Open Kampen (“Open Camps”) are scout camps for children from underprivileged families, children from institutions, asylum seekers,… who are not affiliated with a youth movement. They are sometimes called socially vulnerable. Or “tough guys”. But actually they are just called Samira, Benny or Tom. Open Kamp leaders aim to give them a taste of the scout and guide life. And reversely: they take on the challenge of an Open Kamp themselves. More information can be found on the website of Scouts en Gidsen Vlaanderen.
For whom?
For every child who turns at least 7 this year and wants to discover scouting
Where?
This year, Open Kamp will take place in Hopper Jeugdverblijf Moerkensheide, Beekstuk 10, 9840 De Pinte.
When?

FAQ Open Kampen
My child does not have a sleeping bag nor a sleeping pad, can he/she still come?Don’t worry! Maybe check your personal network to see if you can loan some. If you don’t find anyone, don’t hesitate to reach out to the Open Kamp team through openkampegmont@gmail.com and they will find a solution together with you.
To guarantee an optimal camp experience, we recommend they come along for the entire period. If need be, your child can join a bit later or leave a bit earlier. In that case, you’ll pay a price according to the amount of days participated (= started).
Please communicate this clearly on beforehand to the Open Kamp team through openkampegmont@gmail.com.
Not at all! Open Kamp is there for anyone who would like a taste of scouting! However, as your child participates in a scout activity, it is only insured if it is also a member of the organisation. For that reason, registration is obligatory and the registration fee should be paid. The cost of this is covered by the Gouw.
Please register by completing this registration form for every child you wish to register.
